The original BBL® treatment is a type of intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment that has been shown to rejuvenate skin by kick-starting new collagen development. How is BBL HERO Performed?
After a consultation to confirm if you are an eligible candidate for BBL HERO treatments and the creation of your personalized treatment plan, our Hagerstown, MD team will lead you to a comfortable, private treatment room. Then, we will clean your skin, prepare it for BBL therapy, and give you protective eyewear. A small handpiece will deliver the BroadBand Light therapy with unprecedented speed and precision to your treatment area, with as many as five times the pulses as regular BBL. A BBL HERO treatment session only takes about 15 minutes, after which you are free to resume your normal routine.

How many treatments will I need?
The number of BBL sessions needed can be estimated in your consultation as soon as our team examines your skin's condition. Typically, patients achieve their complexion goals after three appointments. Although, if you have serious sun damage, pigmentation, or discoloration, you may require more treatments. During your consultation, we will listen to your goals and create your custom treatment plan. Your BBL sessions will be spaced about one month apart so your skin can rest.
What areas can be treated with BBL?
Most areas of skin can be improved with BBL, but the most popular areas are the face, chest, hands, neck, shoulders, and upper back. These are the areas that tend to show the most damage because they are frequently in the sun. The face and hands are also most often affected by natural aging and lifestyle, so addressing these spots can help improve your whole appearance. How is BBL different from other lasers?
